Neue Entwicklungen in den #DigitalHumanities zu begleiten und Standards für unser Projekt umzusetzen, braucht zusätzliche Mittel. Das gilt auch für die Einrichtung persistent referenzierbarer Daten nach modernen Gepflogenheiten. (jr)

I will be working with Newcastle architect Michael Brown (who did these draft visualizations) to build a Historical Building Information Model of the camp based on a variety of archival sources.
One set of sources is the body of drawing by architect (and #Janowska prisoner) Zeev Porath whose visual documentation is held at the @GFH_Museum.

The recognition with the prize has been really healing. The toxicity of my field caused me a lot of mental health stress and started a debilitating depression.
Because I called out the racism of the digital humanities, senior white members of the field blackballed me and said I was toxic, warned junior colleagues no one would ever publish again if they worked with me. This was part of the reason why I left.

When I started this collection about 8 years ago, digital humanities had just started getting a lot of attention after years of not being taken seriously as “humanities computing.” Suddenly a ton of money was being poured into this field.
The leaders of the field were adamant in acting like this was just such a nice unproblematic field, one person even published an essay where he said digital humanities were the golden retrievers of the English department.

Humanities friends, stop using Google Maps screenshots in your presentations! Thanks to Technology™ it's easy and free to make maps from scratch that look professional (or at least professional enough), even with my level of extremely limited technical skills. A tutorial thread!
Disclaimer: I’m not a cartographer, this probably isn’t best practice in many ways, but IT’S EASY and that’s my main priority. Also, all of my screenshots have hideous hand-drawn arrows on them, I appreciate the irony that this is about making images look more professional.
Step one: download QGIS. It’s a big programme and it might take a while, but it’s open source and free forever. You can find the latest versions at qgis.org/en/site/foruse…. It doesn’t matter which version, since we’re just going to use super basic features.

Professor:innen sind Doktor:innen, mit einer spezifischen Funktion in der nächstgrößeren Struktureinheit, der Fakultät, der ~Schule~. Manche Fakultäten haben die Möglichkeit, ihrer Doktor:innen Lehrstühle einzurichten. Sie bestimmen gemeinsam die Entwicklung ihrer Schule. 3/
