जम्बू स्वामी ने न केवल यहाँ निवास किया अपितु कैवल्य तथा मोक्ष प्राप्त कर इस स्थान को सदा के लिए सिद्ध क्षेत्र बना दिया। दूसरा प्रमुख स्थान है कंकाली टीला जो प्राचीनता की दृष्टि से मथुरा के लिए ही नहीं,वरन् जैन धर्म के लिए भी अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है।ब्रिटिश काल तक यह क्षेत्र एक
विस्तृत टीले के रूप में था।कंकाली देवी का एक छोटा मंदिर होने के कारण इसे ' कंकाली टीला ' कहा जाता था। सन् 1871 ईस्वी में प्रसिद्ध पुरातत्वविद् कनिंघम की नज़र इस टीले पर पड़ी ।उसने यहाँ से कई जैन प्रतिमाएं प्राप्त कीं ,लेकिन कंकाली टीले पर व्यवस्थित उत्खनन का अभियान सन् 1888-91
