As a professor, I know how challenging it is to stay current and innovative. I also know some colleagues who refused to update their approaches during the pandemic to make classes more remote friendly.
It boggles my mind that institutions that are supposed to be about learning, are so resistant to...learning??? #chatgpt4 is not without risks (obvi) but is changing the how we curate, research and establish knowledge.

According to my parents, the high cost of airplane tickets was why our family always drove the tedious 800+ miles from our NYC suburban home to see relatives in Michigan at Christmas🎄If 4 airplane *tickets* were expensive, I reasoned an *entire airplane* must be hugely costly.
I found lots of good airplane info, which went into that report. But couldn't find ANYTHING about cost. I looked everywhere a kid could look in the 1970s: encyclopedias, school books, library books. Nothing. Desperate, I made up a plausible number 😲 and added it to the report.

I'll explain the architecture of LLMs & their limitations and give you solid examples of why you - or anyone - have nothing to fear from #ChatGPT & explain my motivation in writing this (besides my sheer irritation at the ignorance of the claims clogging my- and your - timeline).
#ChatGPT4 is an excellent tool still very much in its infancy. Like many other AI & AI-adjacent tools, it is touted to perform miraculous tasks that it was _not_ meant to perform and has no capability of performing. Claiming otherwise is ignorance at best and grift at worst.
