The website was always buggy, I could only import through google-sheets and not directly through CSV, even by using the spreadsheet they provided. Using Graphcommons meant using Google. Which is not what I want to do in research+teaching because of their business model.

What did "commons" mean for Graphcommons? Mostly you named a node, it would become a shared thing, you could find it in graphs by others. Not through unique identifiers, or any open data standard, but just as a playful thing. Basically useless for computational analysis.

We are glad to announce that our paper "Message Passing for Hyper-Relational Knowledge Graphs" by @michael_galkin @shape_mismatch @__gauravm @Ricardo_Usbeck @JLehmann82 has been accepted at @emnlp2020! 🎆 We propose a #GNN architecture for hyper-relational KGs like @wikidata. ⬇️
Traditional KGs are based on triples, whereas new KGs like #wikidata use statements and qualifiers to instantiate each edge further making the graph hyper-relational (img1). We incorporate these qualifiers by modifying existing multi-relational GNN (CompGCN) in the StarE (img 2).
This improves link prediction performance across the board!

Yet another of my observations on #iNaturalist (inaturalist.org/taxa/337544-Ca…) is not described on the English Wikipedia.
#iNaturalist uses Wikipedia content to describe taxa. So if a Wikipedia article does not exist, a template is given. This template can be used to create that Wikipedia article.
I created a stub on Wikipedia. These are the steps.

@EdinburghUni I was invited along with 13 other ‘problem holders’ to the annual ‘Data Fair’ hosted by the Data Science for Design MSc.
Had just 5 mins to pitch a real world dataset for students on the course to work on in groups to tell engaging stories with as a 6wk project. Worked great.

Alors, cette carte est tirée des batailles enregistrées dans #Wikidata qui ont une date et une géolocalisation. C'est plus dense sur l'Europe parce que c'est moi qui ait commencé à ajouter ces deux infos systématiquement et que j'ai commencé par l'Europe.
Pourquoi j'ai fait ça ? Parce que j'avais besoin d'une liste de batailles du Moyen-Âge occidental pour debunker une autre discussion du même tonneau, et qu'après j'ai eu la flemme de finir les 10000+ batailles qui ont une entrée mais pas ces deux infos.
Ensuite, les batailles qui ont une entrée (même vide) sur Wikidata sont celles qui ont un article sur Wikipédia (toutes versions confondues). Dont le biais occidentalo-centré est connu (huit des dix plus grosses sont dans des langues européennes.)
