THREAD: Too often people, organisations and society in general believe #mentalhealth to be merely mean suicide. Or suicidal feelings. It doesn't. Trust me on this.
That is not to say those feelings do not materialise, because they do, as 21/12/18 will always remind me of...
...but it is so much more than that. In fact, I would suggest suicide is the headline, but so much more attention needs to be focused on other aspects of #mentalhealth.
Let me explain.
#mentalhealth drains you. It tires you out. It makes you question your self-worth...
...the simple things become impossible, scary, an obstacle. Not because you don't want to do them. You do. But you can't. And if anyone asks why, you have no reason. You cannot explain. That makes you feel worse. Upset. Useless. Been there, done that, boy have I got the T-shirt..

Numbers of patients visiting GP is still lower than it should be, people avoiding GP and delaying treatment, collateral damage from #Covid19. But what worries me more is the hidden reason for going to the GP, the cue that the GP picks up on with a patient who they’ve known for 1/
years that something is
a bit off that’s prompts the question ‘is everything ok?’ with a sympathetic look. This often reveals the real reason for the appointment, that that person is struggling, be it with a medical, social, psychological or mental health problem. These are 2/

It’s a changing time to be a musician- albums don’t make much money, record labels are not as free with advances, & supporting yourself & paying rent is more expensive than ever.

But music is important- it can empathise with you, encourage you, & help you face the day.
No-one deserves a living just because they put on a guitar, of course not, but for people who do, members of the music community are 3 times more likely to experience depression than the general public. This is a shocking figure.
