Ok Twitter this is an odd request.

Does anyone possibly have a newer iPad available that they could donate to a family that has autistic child?

We have checked several places and have been unable to find one suitable for his needs.
This family simply cannot afford a new iPad and every since the stay at home was asked of us and no school anymore the iPad they did have was a lifesaver however it was a first gen and it was not updating anymore and was on its last legs. It finally conked out.
If anyone has one they could donate or for a reasonable price, please DM for more info. We are looking for a newish iPad thats a newer version so it would be compatible to all the necessary apps this young man would need for his special needs. We are looking for a 64G or higher.

Like many, I’ve had some extra fee time these days... After rebinging @theofficenbc and #theofficereunion I was inspired.

A thread of Trump’s handling of the #coronavirus (#COVID19) pandemic, as told by Michael Scott. #TheOffice
Way back in 2018, Trump decided it was a good idea to disassemble the #Pandemic Response Team – created by the Obama administration in case there was “an airborne disease that is deadly.” This can’t go wrong! #thiswaspreventable
Trump does nothing to replace this. He plays golf and insults people on Twitter – just the normal things that presidents do right?

THREAD: I want to be as open & accountable as possible to the people of Massachusetts' Second District about what actions my team and I have taken to address the #COVID19 crisis.

Here's a list of some of what we've been up to. (1/?)
2/ Before we had any confirmed cases of #COVID19 in #MA02, I organized an emergency conference call with health care providers to discuss whether or not they had the information, tools, and resources needed to keep our community safe.
3/ Massachusetts needs a robust, coordinated federal response to this crisis. So the day after my conference call, our Congressional Delegation asked the @WhiteHouse Coronavirus Task Force to take urgent & specific steps to help our state respond. ⤵️

Thread on the increased federal funding for #Medicaid & those trying to take away people's health coverage during a public health crisis ⬇️⬇️

cbpp.org/blog/congress-…
States received a significant temporary increase in federal #Medicaid funding in the bipartisan #FamiliesFirst #Coronavirus Response Act.

In exchange for this increase in federal funding, states can’t take away people’s coverage or impose new restrictions.
Now, some policymakers are trying to eliminate these protections again. Congress should again reject these attempts, which could cost hundreds of thousands of people (or more) their health insurance in the midst of the #COVID19 pandemic & severe economic downturn.

If you have a chance, check out the #MoCTrack recap of the #FamiliesFirst action in the Senate. There were three attempts to amend the bill (1 good, 2 awful), and it is worth seeing ow our lawmakers voted on those efforts.

Last night, @realDonaldTrump signed the #FamiliesFirst #Coronavirus Response Act into law.

So, I want to tell you why I voted for this package & how it will help #WorkingFamilies across the US.

1️⃣ Ensures FREE #COVID19 testing for everyone who needs it, including the uninsured.
2️⃣ Increases #Medicaid funding to help local, state, tribal & territorial health systems.

3️⃣ Enhances Unemployment Insurance, provides 2 weeks of #PaidSickLeave, up to 3 months of family/medical leave for eligible workers & fully reimburses #SmallBusinesses for providing leave.
4️⃣ Strengthens nutrition initiatives like #SNAP, #StudentMeals, #SeniorsMeals & #FoodBanks.

All these measures will help those hit hardest by #COVID19 like low-income, hourly & gig workers.

@HouseDemocrats will continue passing bills #ForThePeople to get us through this crisis.

BREAKING: “The legislation...provides paid sick & family leave for some for U.S. workers impacted by the illness, expands unemployment assistance, includes nutrition assistance & increases resources for testing.”

npr.org/2020/03/18/817…
This legislation is part & parcel of a larger solution that Congress must implement to protect Americans as we face the #COVID19 pandemic.

We are gratified that the Senate has passed the #FamiliesFirst Coronavirus Response Act, a great step forward for America's families!
The #FamiliesFirst Coronavirus Response Act will:
-Make free coronavirus testing available
-Increase Medicaid by 6.2%
-Extend unemployment insurance
-Provide funding for seniors who rely on meal programs
-Extend SNAP benefits for low-income families

51 Republican senators just voted against an amendment to the #FamiliesFirst #Coronavirus Response Act that would have expanded paid leave to millions of Americans left out of the package. Let that sink in.
The amendment, from @PattyMurray and @SenGillibrand, would've closed a critical gap in the package and meant real support for people who desperately need it. Folks who are looking to our elected officials for leadership and moral clarity during this time.
Every Democrat voted yes. Every Republican voted no (except Cory Gardner and Rick Scott, who didn't vote).

Every. Single. Republican.

In response to the #COVID19 pandemic, the labor movement is mobilizing to protect front line workers who are combating the disease every day and millions more workers who may be exposed to the virus. #1u
We urge the Senate to pass the #FamiliesFirst Coronavirus Response Act #HR6201 as soon as possible. While this package is not a complete response to the crisis, it is an urgent measure that will get necessary assistance to working people facing serious health and financial risks.
#HR6201 will encourage working people to seek testing for infection by making the tests free for most people covered by employment-based insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid.

THREAD ON PAID SICK DAYS/PAID LEAVE EROSION. Earlier today, Trump said he was planning to fix the #paidsickdays & #paidleave provisions in #FamiliesFirstCoronavirusResponseAct to require more businesses to provide sick leave. Instead, his negotiators: (1/8)
(1) Scaled back extended paid #FMLA to cover parents affected by school or child care closure (no personal or family care leave)

(2) Made it easier for employers to carve out emergency workers and health care providers from both #paidsickdays and #paidleave (2/8)
(3) Made it possible for the Secretary of Labor to allow small employers to get out of providing reimburseable #PaidSickDays (similar provision already existed in #paidleave section) (3/8)

Been taking a closer look at the #paidsickdays and #familyleave provisions of the #familiesfirst Coronavirus Response Act that the House just passed. Some first impressions.
The bill amends the #FMLA AND has a new Act that requires private employers with fewer than 500 workers and all public employers to offer #paidsickleave.
Mandatory #paidsickleave ONLY applies if you are affected by #coronavirus and need time off because you are sick or exposed or if you have a family member who is affected (either sick or home from school or childcare because of closures).

The #coronavirus situation is developing and changing rapidly. We can all do our part to prevent the spread of the virus by being prepared and staying informed. I wanted to let you know what precautions my team and I are taking now to do our part.
First, our campaign is suspending all in-person events. My district and DC Congressional offices will continue to provide the high-quality services we always do—helping constituents with issues related to the federal government, answering questions about legislation, and more.
Second, we are exploring how we can keep in touch with you and my constituents digitally through email, teletownhalls and videoconferences. It’s critical that we adapt and learn together as this situation develops.

Today, we will pass the Families First Coronavirus Response Act after reaching an agreement with the Administration. This legislation builds on the action that House Democrats took last week to put #FamiliesFirst with our strong, bipartisan $8.3 billion emergency funding package.
#FamiliesFirst is about testing, testing, testing. To stop the spread of the virus, we have secured free #coronavirus testing for everyone who needs a test, including the uninsured.
For families’ economic security, #FamiliesFirst secures paid emergency leave with two weeks of paid sick leave and up to three months of paid family and medical leave. We have also secured enhanced Unemployment insurance for those who lose their jobs.

Tonight, we introduced the #FamiliesFirst Coronavirus Response Act. This legislation focuses directly on providing support to America’s families, who must be our first priority in this emergency. #coronavirus
#FamiliesFirst includes:
-Free #coronavirus testing for everyone who needs a test
-Paid emergency leave for workers
-Enhanced unemployment insurance
-Strengthened food security initiatives
-Clear protections for frontline workers
-Increased federal funds for Medicaid
We cannot fight coronavirus effectively unless everyone who needs to be tested knows they can get tested for free. We cannot slow an outbreak when workers are stuck w/ the terrible choice of staying home to avoid spreading illness & the paycheck their family can’t afford to lose.
