Navinder Grover kicks off @GurdwaraAid’s National Gurdwara Conference 2022, reminding us this is a learning environment and that as well as some great speakers there is an opportunity to exchange know how with peers from gurdwaras and other Sikh charities across the UK.

Volunteers are needed for everything from car park attendants, to clearer uppers, through IT/admin experts to clinicians….there is a job for literally anyone (other than Mark Francois😳), who can spare a few hours!

There are 18 young adults across the Nation who are training to be model citizens. For a month, they have worked with their local governments to uplift the civic standards of their neighborhoods.
They are the Youth vertical of the Solve Movement! Working endlessly with our mentors, this group of leaders is training to build the future of the country. Are you still reading this?
Earlier today we were in downtown #yyc handing out water & gatorade and fruit, when we decided to stop & have a break by the Cat Cafe...when we came upon a senior lady rummaging through the city's garbage bins.

We thought she was looking for bottles to turn in for money but we were wrong. She was looking for both bottles & she was also taking food out of the bins & putting it in her cart.

#Volunteering More often than not, especially in the current round of Volunteering, Young, energetic and passionate volunteers never needed any motivation as they are already inspired and self-fired. But those get fatigued are those who want to deliver perfection and fail
#Volunteering Whenever these inspirational gems talk to me about how to avoid failure in the task - I only request them not to aim for delivering perfect service, but aim to deliver acceptable service. Because what the beneficiary needs simply is unpredictable (COVID19 context)

In my 100 level days, I should've engaged in extracurricular activities - community development clubs, leadership, mentorship, problem-solving and capacity building.
Ps: While working, I discovered teamwork and leadership are essential skills needed to thrive at work.

I had been waiting for the day I could work a #COVIDVaccination clinic for a year. Since this #pandemic started I've been ready to help get doses into arms, whenever safety and efficacy proved enough for an EUA.

Through 3 shifts I had a smile on my face and in my heart. I was so happy to greet every person and send them to that coveted chair where a nurse would administer their vaccine.
For my team, I greeted and checked paperwork on 250 ppl (yes I'm keeping count).

Greetings from South Australia! Due to a COVID-19 cluster the events this week I was planning to tweet from in-person COVID safe events will instead be covered virtually. Because my mum is a high-risk case, I'm happy to be at home to keep the community safe. #StaySafeStayHome

Our mission at the Kids Being Kids Foundation is to improve the welfare and #development of the most #vulnerablechildren through play and extra-curricular activities.
A part of this is their physical #environment, which studies have shown profoundly influences developmental outcomes including academic achievement, cognitive, social and emotional #development.
One of the #vulnerable groups we want to support are the #Children of the Wesley School for the #hearingimpaired in Surulere. Their #landscaping is in dire need of a facelift.
