1/6 #BOUasm21 #sesh4 Can people change their minds about invasive species and their management? The case of the charismatic monk parakeet in Barcelona, Spain. 
2/6 #BOUasm21 Barcelona hosts one of the biggest populations of monk parakeets in Europe. We surveyed the opinion of people in Barcelona in relation to parakeets with two surveys separated by 15 years (2001&2016; N=4860). Information campaigns were carried out during this period.
3/6 #BOUasm21 In this time, there has been an 11% increase of people aware of the negative impact of the species, and an increase of 22% of people feeling harmed by parakeets. This proves that people can change their minds about this charismatic invasive species.
