We genuinely wish #NHRC on this historically very imp day. Chairpersons & Members come & go in NHRC but #HRDs stay on forever & always engage wanting only one thing to happen - that the NHRC becomes more diverse, effective, transparent, accountable and also independent. (2)

@ZeroAppeasement Who decides what's essential / non-essential. In lockdown, getting a plumber to fix a leaking tap was not possible, as plumbing was deemed non-essential. Countries like #China have been investing heavily in research to clean bad air/water, what is #GoI doing in this area?

That table is from: cga.nic.in/MonthlyReport/…. So what does it tell us? Budget 2020 planned ( that's the same as Budget Estimates or BE) to generate revenues in 2020-21 of 20.2 Lakh Crores (LC). In Q1 (April May June) the actual renenue was 1.5 LC.
(1 LC is 1 trillion).

That is a measly 7.4% instead of the 25% of the total BE (granted it comes in in unevenly over the year wit the most in the last Quarter. but such a big shortfall??).

2/ns The critical issue in China-India conflict is that,as of now (2020), #China controls the #escalatory ladder. So India's #National #Security Apparatus has to make assumptions about when and how #CCPpla will escalate, if it loses the first few steps on its escalatory ladder!
