In February I compiled a bunch of data from sources including Texas Health & Human Services, Texas Policy Evaluation Project, the Journal of the American Medical Association, & the US Census Bureau in order to figure out what abortions in Texas looked like post-Dobbs.
Since virtually all the abortion clinics in TX shut down, the obvious question for many would be, "What abortions? It's illegal now. Right?"
Wrong.

Troll factories are pushing the narrative that #PrimeMinister #NarendraModi can't be blamed while he was busy holding super spreader election rallies when he should have taken charge of the situation. So expect an all out attack from the IT Cell. Accountability anyone? #2ndWave

Order also states that hospitals where these plants were to be installed were identified in consultation with state governments and union territories. It’s clear that the states have a go ahead. So what happened after that? Were allocated funds disbursed? Did procurement happen?
Who delayed procurement, construction and installation of #oxygen plants? At what level did the delay take place. It’s says locations were identified in consultation with states. What happened after that is key. If the #Centre or a #CentralBody was in charge, who delayed it?

In 2019, writing the decision for Common Cause v. Rucho, Chief Justice Roberts closed off the federal courts as an avenue for addressing partisan #gerrymandering, instead telling citizens to propose state constitutional amendments.
In many states, with statehouses #gerrymandered beyond reach of the people, or otherwise beholden to special interests, these citizen-amendments are the only avenue left for addressing #democracy reform and other policy concerns.
Fiscal marksmanship is a problem that plagues the #budgeting process at all level of government, from #Centre to #state governments. Attention is however still focused on the #Centre, despite #states now accounting for one and a half times the spending of the #Centre. (1/n)
