लेकिन हमारे कोई भी शास्त्रमें यह नहीं लिखा की रावणवध दशहरा को हुआ था। दशहरा तो छोडो, उसके आसपास भी नहीं हुआ था।

श्रीराम सुग्रीव को कह रहे है की कार्तिकमास आने के बाद रावणवध के लिए प्रयत्न करना। तब तक तुम महलमें रहकर आनन्द करो।
दशहरा अश्विनमासमें आता है। कार्तिकमास तक तो श्रीराम क्रिष्किन्धामें ही थे। तो उन्होने दशहरे को रावणवध कैसे कर दिया?

यह सर्ग २७ के श्लोक है। जहाँ पर श्रीराम सुग्रीव से स्पष्ट कह रहे है की वह चतुर्मास के समय तक पर्वत पर निवास करेगे। चारमास समाप्त होने के बाद ही वह रावणवध के लिए प्रयत्न करेगे।

The #Ganeshutsav at #Dadar in #Mumbai, saw donations being collected from people across castes. However, the organising committee was dominated by Brahmins, who kept other groups away from it. The singers and religious orators were also Brahmins. In short, they ran the show.

బంగారంగా భావిస్తూ పెద్దల చేతిలో పెట్టి ఆశీస్సులు తీసుకుంటారు. చెట్లని దైవంగా పూజించి కొలుచుకోవడం హైందవ సంస్కృతిలో తరచూ కనిపించేదే! కానీ ఈ దసరా రోజుకీ జమ్మి చెట్టుకీ మధ్య అనుబంధం ఏమిటి అన్న ప్రశ్నకు చాలా సమాధానాలే కనిపిస్తాయి.

జమ్మి భారతీయులకు కొత్తేమీ కాదు. ఇంకా చెప్పాలంటే భారత ఉపఖండంలోనే ఈ వృక్షం ఉద్భవించిందన్నది శాస్త్రవేత్తల అభిప్రాయం. అందుకనే రుగ్వేదకాలం నుంచే జమ్మి ప్రస్తావన కనిపిస్తుంది. అప్పట్లో ఈ చెట్టుని అగ్నిని పుట్టించే సాధనంగా వాడేవారు.
