Emily Andrews: The Family Medical Leave Act is an incredibly important piece of legislation. It's not just the pay, FMLA is flawed--the size of the employer, how long you've worked there, how much you make all affects your ability to take unpaid leave.

Sally Hardin: The really exciting thing about this legislation is all the investments, creating jobs here at home, & help of nearly $2000 for families who choose to get EVs & switch to cleaner & more secure sources of energy like solar & wind.

Sally Hardin: EVs are still expensive because there aren't a whole lot of them avail. yet in the U.S. There are extra incentives for EVs built in the US by US workers, which is a win-win-win situation.

Doug Jones: There was enough evidence that developed on a potential crime--we don't know what it is yet but there's talk of federal documents--and an agent put together the evidence in an affidavit. The info, incl probable cause, was taken to a judge. (con't)

STORY TIME: How did we win our union through #4121organizing? 🧵
In 1999, inspired by academic student worker organizing around the country (including at University of California, where nearly 10,000 ASEs formed @uaw2865!), ASEs at UW started organizing for our own union so we could have a collective voice for improving conditions here.
By Fall 2000, we demonstrated supermajority support for our union TWICE among all Teaching Assistants, Readers, Graders, and Tutors. But UW admin refused to recognize our union, so we decided to strike at the end of Fall Quarter. Our yes vote? Manually tallied!

"After the ICE ruling however, my department decided without my consultation that I would not be able to come to Hawai’i, and that I should start my first semester of my PhD program virtually from abroad without a GAship, and therefore no living stipend nor tuition remission.
