In Jan 1951, then-the governor of Assam, Jairamdas Daulatram summoned Major Khathing and entrusted him with a top-secret mission: 'To go and integrate Tawang into India'.

Both sides disengaged soon after the face-off. There are unconfirmed reports of the Indian Army capturing 10 #PLA soldiers soon after the incident and later releasing them. No official version of the same so we can choose not to focus on the same for now.
