In the reply to a question asked in the #RajyaSabha, the @MLJ_GoI has replied that there are 72,062 cases pending in the Supreme Court, 59,45,709 cases pending in various high courts and 4,19,79,353 cases pending in district and subordinate courts. /1
The data revealed that there are 2 vacancies of judges in the supreme court, 386 vacancies across all the high courts & 5343 vacancies in district & subordinate courts across India. /2
Allahabad high court with 69 vacancies is the high court with the highest number of vacancies, followed by Punjab & Haryana and Mumbai with 39 vacancies. /3
