I am not fluent in #britishsignlanguage but I took my first (level 1) exam as a teen in 2002 when I began to first experience hearing loss, did more in 2006, then 2016, & most recently this lockdown. So have been steadily building my use of #bsl most of my adult life!

There are lots of reasons to learn #signlanguage even if you don't know anyone with #hearingloss. Sign with babies, with SEN folk, for your CV, to make your business more accessible & because it is genuinely fun! If you might be interested @ me and RTs are appreciated ❤️

Take home point: Deaf signers activate the parts of their brain used for movement when reading an English word. For example, if a Deaf signer were to read the English word "cat", the motor representation of the ASL sign "cat" will be activated even though there is nothing else...
