The Scottish Government already has a relatively large office in Brussels – which, naturally and appropriately, is focused on Scotland's relationships with the EU now, under the present constitution. That representation is surely sufficient for Scotland's current requirements
The singular mission for the Scottish Government, even one that desires independence, should be to build and sustain practical and mutually-beneficial relationships with EU partners at all levels. A political party office advocating independence would detract from that mission

Accession to the EEA is a process and it requires the support of all the EU Member States and the EEA EFTA states. While no non-EU country has ever directly joined the EEA since its establishment, EEA accession for Scotland could reasonably take several years

Here my Murrell 2014 thread. Now you may remember 'Yes Scotland' (eh #SNP HQ) were going to launch at intervals 3 billboards featuring a woman, started as a baby. Anyway ahead of the first billboard launch I'd a call from #Newsnight London saying they were heading to #Edinburgh/
For a 'Yes' focussed package, I'd already set them up for an interview with the Yes shop in Easter Rd from memory anyhoo could I tell them the locations of the billboards.I of course said yes, I'd get that detail for them. Turned to Blair J on the top table adjacent to/
the media desk, asked him the question expecting to be emailed all locations in Scotland WELL he very embarassedly told me Yes didn't hold that info that only Peter Murrell did and I quote ''he may or may not tell you'' #WTAF Blair gave me his email as he didn't take calls/
As promised my yarn on Shirley Anne Somerville from 2014. I worked on the Yes Scotland Media desk and was responsible for all broadcast bids, neither the two old Fleet St lads or Salmond's right hand man Kevin J Pringle could be bothered with all the logistics/
that you're required to deal with on top of securing an interview. From early August 2014 I was being asked by the big broadcasters, BBC, Sky, ITV where the post vote 'party' was taking place for Yes, they need to know well in advance so they can ensure they have the right rig/
For the life of me I could not find out Blair Jenkins claimed not to know, hmm, anyway nobody was telling me. Better Together made public their Glasgow hotel venue well in advance of course. We get to late August, still no info. As well as the 60 or so interview bids/

Someone in my #SNP branch has just sent me this data on the #ListVote results before the new equality mechanism was applied. They told me the #leak comes from a staffer in SNP HQ, I have no reason to doubt them and it does looks like you'd expect it to.

If I was an #SNP list candidate (especially in the South of Scotland, where the last seat looks like being a toss up between Tories and SNP), I'd be spitting blood at this dreadful advice from a party colleague, that would likely cost me my seat.
