Trying desperately not to think about it but having been inadvertently given access to all of my GP notes on system one including psychiatric notes when I was only trying to access a copy of my summary care record is very unsettling. I had deliberately intended never to read 1/
any of my notes. Having worked for the #NHS in some capacity intermittently since 2005 (including time as an admin assistant to a #MHA office) and as a doctor since 2011 I am acutely aware that medical notes can sometimes be brutally dehumanising. I understand it is @rcpsych 2/
guidance now that clinic letters are sent to patients but I previously opted out of receiving them. It always felt so strange to read about myself in such a clinical way. I began to dread the brown envelopes with the off white NHS paper that came through the letterbox. 3/

2/ I think there is a lot of frustration from all sides that our ability to support #SAS doctors (experienced, psychiatrists who make up a high proportion of the workforce) has been caught up in wider changes of direction by the @rcpsych. Their input should be better valued.
3/ The process of scrutiny of the proposals seems to have fallen short, leading to last-minute changes of #AGM process and suggested separation of voting into 2 parts- (i) the changes to College electorate & (ii) introduction of new postnominals (which has been widely criticised)
A compelling message from @DrAdrianJames on how #SAS doctors have been excluded from full participation in @rcpsych, and how this can be corrected by extension of voting rights rcpsych.ac.uk/news-and-featu…. Definitely worth reading, and (thread) some thoughts...
The #AGM to discuss this is now available online which is a great move in response to considerable criticism that an 8.30am in-person meeting in Edinburgh was not a good way to discuss a key change in @rcpsych policy, particularly disadvantaging specific groups
There is a strong defence of extending voting rights to #SAS Drs who have felt excluded for many years (highlighted in a recent College survey). I think there is wide support for this; there is no specific comment on why also to international doctors overseas without membership

I’m very proud of my wife @HelenRibee for passing another ED exam leaving just the OSCE part C to go for MRCEM.
She is pretty amazing. Wife, mother of 2. Or 3 if you count me. Manages the house and finances and organising, even when I do try and share this.

Aside from inventing the Lewes Bomb to destroy enemy aircraft on SAS raids, he designed the unit's wings. Stirling, educated at Cambridge, chose the primary colour as Cambridge Blue whilst Lewes added the darker Oxford Blue. They were produced in Cairo by tailors John Jones & Co.
The wings could be privately purchased by anyone producing an issued chit as proof of qualification (personal interview with Bob McDougall, 2007).

I believe they are many degrees that can be a good value for money, provided you know where you would like to work in the long run.
In the developing world markets, employers still don't appreciate highly technical education in risk, actuarial sciences, financial engineering, quantitative economics, machine learning, etc.
For them, an #MBA is a be-all and an end-all troubleshooter.
