Amb. Sinirlioğlu @UN #SecurityCouncil: @OPCW still cannot confirm that the regime’s chemical weapons declaration is accurate and complete. The regime refuses to grant visas to @OPCW officials, as part of a broader pattern of its non-compliance under the #CWC obligations.
#SecurityCouncil members must put differences aside and enforce the Resolution 2118(2013). Turkey supports efforts within @OPCW towards full compliance. We strongly condemn the repeated use of chemical weapons by the Assad regime against its own people.
Urgent need to ensure full accountability for Assad regime’s war crimes and crimes against humanity. This is the legal, historical and ethical responsibility for us all, but especially for those who are emboldening the regime in its current course.
