Spoke in Lok Sabha to oppose the Demand for Grants of Ministry of Education because there have been no steps in 6 years to improve the state of education for Muslim minorities or to reduce their drop out rate. The literacy rate of Muslims is 68.5% vs the national rate 74.04% 1/n
Muslim female literacy rate is 62% vs overall rate of 65.44%. @EduMinOfIndia data says that Muslim enrolment in primary & higher education is only 13.14%. #AISHE says that there are only 19.5 lakh Muslims in higher education. This is only 5.23% of total enrolment 2/n
|@PMOIndia patronisingly wanted to give Qur'an in one hand & computer in another to Muslims. But 2018-19 data says only 16% Muslim households have computers which is 2nd lowest. Only 32% households have internet also the 2nd lowest, only 38% have ability to operate a computer 3/n

President says New Education Policy gives top priority to provide basic literacy and numeracy to all children at primary school level by the year 2025.

In the session, PM Shri @narendramodi ji highlighted how the #NationalEducationPolicy is being accepted nationwide & has received a positive response from all States/UTs.
He mentioned that #NEP2020 lays out a framework required for an #AatmanirbharBharat by focusing on critical thinking, individual interests & aptitude of a learner, foundational learning, better learning outcomes
along with proper professional development of faculty via teacher training initiatives.
During the inaugural session, the Hon'ble President Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji mentioned how the proper implementation #NEP2020 will result in making #India a global superpower. He also pointed out how #NEP with a focus on 21st-century skills and vocational education
will eventually transform the Indian youth into better and informed global citizens.
He brought everyone's attention to the views & theories of Gandhi Ji laid out in the #NationalEducationPolicy in terms of more attention & focus to be given to continuous research & knowledge creation.
Participated in @aimaindia's 25th convocation through video conferencing today. #AIMA's initiative to conduct the convocation in #digital mode, in line with the government's mandate of #socialdistancing, is commendable.
I congratulate all the students who had completed their education and are at a threshold of new innings in life. @aimaindia has an important role in shaping the future of Management #Education in India, and I hope they keep up the good work.

Delhi Education Min @msisodia today gave a detailed and balanced analysis of #NationalEducationPolicy #NEP2020 . He did it like a good national level, visionary opposition would do - good points, criticism and suggestions.

Progressive, forward looking doc which recognizes the challenges and flaws of current system and talks of future needs. But 2 problems:
1. Failed to get free from pressure of old traditions and understanding

Basic principles are good but how to take current system to needs of future is not stated.
MHRD renamed as Education Ministry. Good because HRD is a part of education and not vice versa. But changing name is not sufficient and policy fails to address the structural issues. 3/n
