I like @Gladwell a lot, but this debate was not his best moment; his attacks came off as very personal & rarely engaged with what the other speakers were saying.
Goldberg did fine but she was nowhere as pointed to the topic as her opponents.

Here is a series of some of the instances where #Biden keeps announcing he is doing what he is told to do. The press meekly goes along with the limits on who can ask pre-screen questions. Imagine the uproar if Trump pre-screened questions like this.

Today's example from the Mail Online blames far-right terror attacks in Germany on the so called 'migrant crisis' of 2015, when Angela Merkel opened the borders to migrants crossing the Mediterranean. 2/7

For many years of my early career I edited media (radio) or provided oversight to other editors. I’ve long thought there was a need for an ethical framework for media editors b/c of the technological power we have at our fingertips.

I began thinking this years ago when I witnessed a credible religion journalist interview 2 prominent Southern Baptist brothers on different sides of an issue. The interviews were separate then edited together with narration.
The final cut of the interview depicted a far greater divide than there actually was between the subjects. The report inflamed the already tense conversation. But that was a secular media corp reporting on Baptist life. Little surprise they would get it wrong.

It ignores well-known biases in crime data, such as whether victims disclose (‘self-selection bias’), whether reports are investigated/prosecuted (‘institutional bias’) & whether convictions make the news (‘media bias’) 2/
