2/5) My reasons for eating fish frequently are bc I enjoy the taste and as an #ApoE4 homozygote (#Alzheimers risk gene) my understanding of the research is that the more real-food EPA/DHA I can get the better!

2. There’s nothing particularly special about Lough Feeagh. It’s a fairly typical, deep, #Humic lake (45m deep), similar to many lakes that you find in all the mountainous regions along the west coast. It’s a pretty nice place to work
3. The impacts of #ClimateChange & #LandUse that we measure in Feeagh, therefore, are likely to be replicated in lakes in any of Ireland’s blanket bog catchments (to varying degrees). We'll look at #LandUse change 1st, and how it impacts rivers and downstream aquatic ecosystems

3. I did my PhD with 3 partners-in-crime @gnfree_gf @J0naf1n and Rossana Caroni, and we spent 2 years driving around 🇮🇪 with a little inflatable boat sampling many many many lakes. No camera phones in those days! 📸These are literally the only 3 photos I have of those 2 years

To the Pacific NW first & the Emerald City, #Seattle where 11.3% claim Irish as their primary heritage. @CityofSeattle & @galwaycity are sister cities since 1986 & the current Mayor Seattle @MayorJenny has a strong Irish heritage, primarily from #Mayo (pic below!)
John Keane (second in from the left below) is our Honorary Consul in Western US & he has been at the heart of our community in Seattle for decades. He is ably supported by the irrepressible Noreen McCormack (beside John) & they're quite a duo in promoting Ireland-Seattle links!
There is a vibrant community of #GlobalIrish groups & organisations in Seattle - @IrishSeattle, @IrishNetworkSea & @SeattleGaels to name just a few. Together they organise a remarkable programme of heritage, business, sporting & cultural events in Seattle throughout the year.
I suppose we can safely say that now #TheFrighteners have been so successfully and publicly put on a certain sector their combined angst will spew a diarrhoea of spin & warp whilst trying to use THAT VERY THING to generate $£Es Some with automated AdTech software already bought.
2/ Some bought by gormless companies, by mistake, some in full knowledge or partial knowledge of what it could do. It will be interesting as time goes on to see who apparently DIDN'T CARE about the likely instigation of its more negative 'dark' capabilities looking to 'side-step'
