1st, the ground reality with racism in GCC countries is as much true as it is for Indian Muslims amongst each other. I have been denied assistance from Muslims in Ind, while travelling, seeking jobs, etc., just bcz 'I wasn't from Xyz race' or 'I wasn't from abc language group'.
2nd,when I was in Kuwait, 33% of them were racists thinking Indians and Non-Kuwaitis were pests, 33% just tolerated us, 33% made us feel we were Muslims, they literally 'hugged & helped' us. (Many beautiful memories from Kuwait, it'll take a long thread to write them.)

2. Don’t expect rigid positions from MPs (right away at least). Many are worn out at this stage. Making it work should be on everyone’s mind (one hopes!). That entails playing politics: hard compromises, mutual respect, & patience instead of the hit and run attitude of the past.
3. Expect more of the musical chairs game in the already dynamic loyalty-opposition spectrum & interplay over the yrs. Ruling family politics will come into play
4. That’s why sorting the succession upfront like rest of the GCC will come a long way in achieving desired stability

#Swedish telecom giant Ericsson has been fined $207 million for violating a deferred prosecution deal with US authorities by concealing evidence of serious misconduct in #Iraq, where the company reportedly bribed #ISIS to access a specific transport route between 2011 & 2019. 
In a statement issued on 2 March, Ericsson said it had entered “a guilty plea regarding previously deferred charges relating to conduct prior to 2017” for not disclosing its inquiry to the US authorities.

Pakistan's exports to the Middle East declined by 5.57% YoY to $951.78m in the first five months of FY23, with the majority of this decline attributed to a drop in exports to the UAE.
Despite some growth in exports to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain, overall exports to the region were mixed. The UAE is the largest market for Pakistani exports, accounting for 65% of the region's total exports.
Major exports to the UAE include rice, bovine carcasses, and cotton ensembles. Meanwhile, exports to Saudi Arabia have remained stagnant at around $500m over the past decade, with top exports including rice, bovine carcasses, and tents.
