A Tirthankar is not an incarnation of the God. He is an ordinary soul that is born as a human and attains the states of a Tirthankar as a result of intense practices of penance, equanimity and meditation. As such, the Tirthankar is not defined as an Avatar

In 2003, the Gujarat state assembly (under the chief minsitership of Narendra Modi) passed the controversial "Freedom Of Religion" bill, which clubbed Jainism and Buddhism as denominations of Hinduism.
The move was protested by the Jain, Buddhist, and Christian communities.

Jwalamalini or Jvālāmālinī
Yakshini (guardian spirit) of the Eighth Tirthankara, Shri Bhagwan Chandraprabhu in Jainism; was one of most widely invoked Yakshinis in Karnataka during early medieval era.
Jwālā refers to glow of fire, mālinī implies one who bears it's garlands.

A famous historical text Jwalamalini Kalpa was composed by Jain Acharya Indranandi in 939 AD in Manyakheta during Rashtrakuta Krishnaraj's rule. It was inspired by an older & complex text of Helacharya before him, who had vanquished a Brahma-Rakshasa by invoking Jwalamalini.
Jwalamalini also appears in various Puranas, the Vayu Purana associates her with Shiva, the Brahmanda Purana and the Matsya Purana associate her with Shakti.

अग्नि शिखा सम क्षुदा वेदना, मुनिजन वन में सहते हैं।
बेला तेला पक्ष मास का, अनशन कर तप तपते हैं।
नरक पशुगति क्षुदा वेदना, का नित चिन्तन करते हैं।
इस विधि आतम चिंतनकर नित, क्षुदा परिषह सहते हैं।।१।

This Ahimsa award is given every year during the celebration of Ahimsa divas/Non Violence day. It is given to a person who has spread the spirit of compassion through his life's work, meritorious contribution in literature & journalim, education, religion & social service.

Earlier Nelson Mandela, Dalai Lama, Acharyashri Mahapragynaji have received this award, recently Late Shri Padmanabha Jaini as well. Members of the British Parliament, leaders of Interfaith and dignitaries from the Indian & Jain communities were present in this ceremony.

Applications could range from conflict resolution to mathematical logic to business ethics.
जैन धर्म में 18 प्रकार के पाप बताए गए हैं :
1. प्राणातिपात : हिंसा , कोई भी जीव के प्राण को घात करना , पीड़ा देना , मानसिक त्रास देना वो द्रव्य हिंसा है। रागादि भाव के साथ आत्मगुण को दबाना या घात करना वो भाव हिंसा है।

3. अदत्तादान : अदत्त - चोरी , आदान लेना। चोरी से छुपा के लेना। पूछे बिना लेना। राज्य के कर आदि छुपाना वो भी चोरी है। एक परमाणु जितना भी चोरी करना भी अदत्तादान है।

5. परिग्रह : धन धान्यादि संग्रह करके उसमें मान, दिखावा, ममत्व करना। आवश्यक संग्रह करके भी ज्यादा की तृष्णा करना। जितना भी है उसके उपयोग में नियंत्रण नही रखना।

This tradition goes back to the times of Shree Aadinath. As per existing evidences, this tradition first started in Jains. We Jains, named the Samvatsara since the Nirvana of Shree Aadinath.
As on this day of Shree Aadinath attaining Nirvana, his Samavasarana (the three-layered Dev-made building where all Tirthankars give sermons) was dissolved. The next day is called Samvatsara or starting of an Era of the spiritual kingdom of him after he attained Nirvana.
