Ceci est un Cline argenté, pris en photo le 7 novembre dernier. Un poisson de fonds rocheux que l'on estime très commun dans les zones battues, proches de la surface. Il se nourrit d'invertébrés trouvés sur les algues. Il dépasse rarement le premier mètre de profondeur.
On le reconnait à sa large échancrure au début de sa nageoire dorsale unique, ses marbrures mimétiques, et ses nageoires pelviennes (sous le ventre) réduites à deux rayons, un long et un court.
C'est l'Automne, saison des Marbrés !
En effet, on peut observer actuellement des jeunes marbrés sur nos côtes, au niveau des zones de sables quasi exclusivement.

Ce poisson, Lithognathus mormyrus, mesure jusqu'à 55cm, possède un dos zébré caractéristique avec un profil rectiligne. C'est une espèce qui cherche ses proies, des invertébrés, dans le sable et le sédiment.
Ses solides molaires sont capables de broyer de petits oursins et des crustacés. A noter qu'il est protandre, c'est-à-dire qu'il est mâle vers 2 ans puis femelle entre 4 et 7 ans. La capture de tout individu de moins de 20 cm est interdite quelle que soit la technique utilisée.
