2. The CEO of #Dassault Aviation, Éric Trappier, has made it known he’s against expanding FCAS to include other countries involved in the #F35 program, even if they are European. However, he has not ruled out the possibility of governments joining as observer nations.
3. Trappier made the following remarks at a hearing session on France’s 2024-2030 Military Programming Law held last month. “I don’t really see the point in putting more F35 countries into the program. Why would I make room in my factory for people who have chosen the F-35?”

2⃣ Yo estoy de acuerdo en que en Europa se tienen que desarrollar proyectos como el FCAS y Tempest, pero esos proyectos necesitarán mucho tiempo para hacerse realidad y el #F35 Block 4 cubriría perfectamente el gap entre los aviones de 4 Generación y el FCAS.
3⃣ En Italia, Alemania y UK han resuelto el problema y apostaron por los F-35, que estarán maduros cuando llegue el primer FCAS o Tempest y lo acompañarán en el futuro.
Por otro lado, el Eurofighter son la pareja ideal para los F-35, a los cuales complementa perfectamente.

Wow this is a damning assessment of #FCAS by the German MOD! According to @derspiegel there is a classified MOD report that basically said the French pulled the wool over the Germans’ eyes on this project. This is really bad for Franco-German relations.

I don’t quite get the argument about this leading to the use of “outdated technology”, given that nothing has been built yet, and everything is still being developed, so that part strikes me as odd.

What’s also interesting in this report is the undertone of the Germans basically blaming the French for the fact that the German side didn’t defend its own interest enough. This is something I’ve often encountered myself and always struck me as odd.

Noch in 2020 soll über die Bewaffnung der G-Heron TP eine Entscheidung fallen. Die @spdde möchte das Thema nicht mit in den Wahlkampf nehmen. Somit hat das @BMVg_Bundeswehr, das die Entscheidung diese Legislatur forciert, wenig Zeit.

Noch Anfang/Mitte Oktober hieß es auf eine kleine Anfrage der @Linksfraktion für die Vorbereitung der 25 Mio. Vorlage bräuchte man bis zu 12 Monate. Laut @DanielaVates @rnd wurde eben diese Vorlage schon Anfang/Mitte November an das @BMF übermittelt. rnd.de/politik/bewaff…
Jetzt schauen alle auf den 16. Dezember. An dem Tag soll die Entscheidung durch den Verteidigungs- und Haushaltsausschuss getroffen werden. Die eigentliche Entscheidung wird jedoch vorher in der Fraktionssitzung der @spdbt fallen.
