Do not forgot: the reason why #circumcision exists in various societies and why it’s exclusively forced on boys is as a tool of cultural control. It sends a direct message “your body is not yours. Remember the group before yourself.” #i2 #childrights (1)
It’s the very reason why when #American parents talk their reasoning for #circumcision it’s always for their future partners, for what their school bullies in the locker room, for THEIR preference as parents. For anyone & everything EXCEPT for the boys preferences.(2) #i2

BUT at age 10, starting Year 4, his teacher began to discriminate against him & mistreat him😱. In Year 5, Rubén's new teacher said he didn't need the education assistant. Rubén's parents complained, and the assistant was allowed back, but the teacher wouldn't collaborate😒. 2/5
At the end of that school year, the local education department decided Rubén should enroll in a "special education center." Rubén's parents contested this, and asserted Rubén's right💪 to be educated in an ordinary school. The Spanish courts⚖ disagreed. 3/5
Last week, the mom of #Fatima, a 7-year-old girl in Mexico arrived 20 mins late to pick her up so the girl was left outside the school gates to wait. Over the weekend, her body was found. She was kidnapped, tortured and killed.
