Can't wait for Cobra Kai season 4 to drop on Friday. Rewatched seasons 2 and 3 to help build up the hype for myself. Forgot what an epic show it is, found myself hitting the "Next Episode" button over and over even though I know what happens already.
Cobra Kai season 1 is the perfect sequel to The Karate Kid, the one fans deserved. Uses fan service to take an excellent story to the next level.
Episode 1 reintroduces Daniel and Johnny, then we meet the next generation in episode 2. From then on out it's a karate masterpiece.

Season 2 raises the stakes. It continues to bend the idea of black and white and good and evil, creating that gray area that they talk about in the show.

2. La idea era sencilla y guardaba paralelismos con lo que Japón trató de hace el "día de la infamia", ese 7 de diciembre de 1941 en el que lanzó sus aviones contra Pear Harbor, tratando de general una "ventana de oportunidad", aunque a la postre no sirviera de nada.
3. En el caso soviético, confiaban en que sus cruceros Slava y Kirov y sus submarinos clase Oscar y Oscar II, armados con sus misiles antibuque supersónicos P-500 Bazalt y P-700 Granit lanzasen salvas contra los grupos de combate estadounidenses, provocando el caos.

Nos presentan al personaje de Robby con un entorno familiar realmente desestructurado. Vive con su madre pero su relación no es madre-hijo, y Robby tiene que sobrevivir prácticamente solo. Su padre,Johnny, no pasa por sus mejores momentos y está alejado de su hijo desde que nació
Robby, por tanto, crece y vive sin figuras paternas de referencia. Sus amistades no son buenas y tampoco ayudan, pero la rabia y desamparo que siente Robby solo se sacia con ese tipo de relaciones problemáticas. Se meten en líos y además le hace sentirse parte de "algo".
Started watching #kobraKai - Less than 3 minutes in and Johnny's character is throwing racist comments at his Latino neighbor. Is there a point to this? Because the "Racist white guy who eventually reforms" is a really tired trope I don't care to invest my limited TV time in
Finished 1st #kobraKai episode. Johnny is an angry white guy spouting racist one liners at a teenage Hispanic neighbor (Miguel) who for some reason doesn't tell him to kick rocks or cuss him out. Then this same kid accepts help from this old racist because ? Plot convenience?
#kobraKai isn't TERRIBLE but the lone Hispanic and African American (the nurse) characters in the 1st episode are repeatedly yelled at and disparaged. I guess I'm supposed to stick with Johnny until he learns the error of his ways? Maybe EP2 is better

Aunque de pequeño me encantó, desde que trabajo en casos de #bullying siempre he visto #KarateKid como una película peligrosa, que enseña que el final feliz para las víctimas es darle una paliza a su #bully. Pero he empezado la serie #CobraKai y he de reconocer que es genial:
Aunque sigue la inercia de la peli, deja atrás planteamientos simplistas y habla de cómo una víctima que escapa del #AcosoEscolar utilizando la violencia puede acabar convirtiéndose en acosador, de que los matones no lo son sin problemas previos, de que los buenos no son
tan buenos ni los malos tan malos. Creo que vuelve difuso el elegir quién debe recibir la patada en la cara para sentirte, como público, que ha habido justicia. ¿Y saben qué? Que me alegra. No la he visto entera, pero es la primera obra de la saga que se acerca a la realidad:

BTW- #CobraKai is a ton of fun and some unexpectedly compelling storytelling.
Like, I would’ve been 100% on board just for nonsensical, cheesy Karate Kid nostalgia. Which there is. But there’s also emotional connection and character development.
