To protect the public and City staff and to help minimize the spread of COVID-19 virus, all City facilities including City Hall will be closed to public access effective Monday, March 16 to Sunday, April 5.
While Mayor @MariannMeedWard has not yet declared an official emergency on COVID-19, Burlingtonās Crisis Management Team (CMT) has now fully activated the City of Burlington Emergency Response Plan at a Level 2.

School Boards currently pay for passes for students to take specialized programs (like SHSMs) that are at schools other than their home schools. The hope is to continue the same level of funding from the boards, but extend transit to all #BurlON high school students.
Since receiving a number of complaints regarding the odour emitting from the plant at Harvester and Appleby, City staff and Council have reached out to Sofina Foods as well as the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks to find a resolution to this issue. #BurlON
Sofina Foods continues to investigate the origins of the odour and has been working with the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks.
Today, the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks staff informed the City that on October 11, 2019, a ministry order was issued to Sofina Foods: āThe order requires the company to remove waste sludge from the property within three hours of filling a tanker trailer.
