Consent is not open-ended, it cannot be given through omission, not can it be invented after the event, not can it be extrapolated from decisions which were not an option at the time.

Have MPs become so binary in their thinking that they would vote for a Brexit which even under their own ideology is worse than staying in the EU, just because they can technically call it Brexit?
Let's start with Jacob Rees-Mogg.

I supported Leave for a variety of reasons. I didn't think the UK fit well into the EU. Didn't think our membership was sustainable. Believed it blighted our political debate. Thought consistent public scepticism & apathy to EU elections was part of this. These issues remain.
I thought EU membership brought out the worst in our politicians. They used it as a convenient scapegoat. They pretended to dislike policies implemented via the EU & used this to abdicate responsibility & avoid accountability.
I regret the outcome of tonight's #Brexitvote. It is disappointing that the UK government has been unable to ensure a majority for the Withdrawal Agreement agreed by both parties in November, even after multiple additional assurances from the EU. A solution must come from London.
The EU continues to stand by the Withdrawal Agreement, including the backstop, which serves to prevent a hard border in Ireland and preserve the integrity of the single market unless and until alternative arrangements can be found.
With only 17 days left until March 29th, the Dutch government will keep working tirelessly to make sure the damage for NL and Dutch citizens living and working in the UK is minimised in the now more likely case of a no-deal #Brexit.

The Brexit referendum result was NOT democratic.
The Brexit campaign was riddled with lies, dodgy 'dark' money and manipulation.
The so-called ‘facts’ used by the Leave campaign were laughably ridiculous fabrications.

I'm going to keep arguing like this and I'm not sorry.
I will point out that immigration culturally, economically and medically enriches our society. But I won't convince everyone in 4 months. So for those who only see it as a negative, I'll point out the EU's safeguards on that.

There are those whose principles prevent them from taking a two-pronged approach and I respect that (even if one such person did call me "disgraceful" for my approach today) but for me I have one priority: Preventing something which would in fact do FAR more harm to EU citizens.
I was sat there on @BBCPolitics #PoliticsLive surrounded by politicians all treating Free Movement as a big problem completely unchallenged until I set them all straight. As I've done with Farage, and repeatedly across news and social media.
There is no left-wing justification for Brexit. This is a project about neoliberal deregulation. It is Thatcherism on steroids.
