The most disappointing display at #DefExpo2020 for me was #AMCA for the following reasons.
1. ADA aims to field Stage 2 (situation awareness) sensor fusion with MWF LCA Mk.2; AMCA would require Stage 3 (Decision assist) or Stage 4 (Automated decision) sensor fusion.

2. Sanctioning AMCA without even conceptually conceiving a powerplant is akin to counting chicken before the rooster is hatched!

For 10 yrs now, the AMCA has remained on the design board. Even the current aerodynamic shaping has not been validated for LO through 1:1 scale model testing. There has been little progress in sensor development, let alone sensor fusion, engine development, let alone supercurise
Responding to those who feel @IAF_MCC should wait for #AMCA & buy #Su57 if in a crisis:

Kargil wouldn't have happened if @IAF_MCC had LGBs and Swift Retort wouldn't have happened if the IAF had AMRAAM equivalents and SDRs. You may (facetiously?) disagree, but deterrent value of good weapon systems is above debate.
