At every step in our transition from a religious based understanding of our universe to a scientific one, fewer miracles have been required to explain what we observe.
Logically, the ultimate goal is a solution devoid of miracles. One where energy/matter is made from nothing.
As it stands, physics still requires miracles to explain phenomena like the Big Bang, the existence of energy/matter & any other component of our universe as we know it.
A universe constructed from combinations/consequences of nothing, is the only solution that could satisfy that
