#اٹھارویں_ترمیم 8اپریل 2010 کو پاس ہوئی. اس ترمیم کی رو سے آئین میں سو کے قریب تبدیلیاں کی گئیں جنہوں نے آئین کے 83 آرٹیکلز کو متاثر کیا. اس ترمیم کی رو سے ضیاء دور میں کی گئی تقریباً تمام آئینی ترامیم کو ختم کرنے کے ساتھ ساتھ مشرف دور کی 17ویں ترمیم کو بھی رول بیک کیا گیا.
#اٹھارویں_ترمیم کے تحت
⬅ شمال مغربی سرحدی صوبہ کا نام تبدیل کر کے خیبر پختونخوا رکھا گیا۔
⬅ دو صوبوں کے انگریزی ناموں کے سپیلنگز میں تبدیلی کے تحت Baluchistan کو Balochestan اور Sind کو Sindh کیا گیا ہے۔
⬅ شمال مغربی سرحدی صوبہ کا نام تبدیل کر کے خیبر پختونخوا رکھا گیا۔
⬅ دو صوبوں کے انگریزی ناموں کے سپیلنگز میں تبدیلی کے تحت Baluchistan کو Balochestan اور Sind کو Sindh کیا گیا ہے۔
⬅ 1973کےآئین میں شامل آرٹیکل6ریاست اور آئین سےغداری میں ملوث افراد کےلیے سخت سزائیں تجویز کی گئی تھی، #اٹھارویں_ترمیم کےتحت اس میں مزید تبدیلی کرکے آرٹیکل 2۔6 الف کا اضافہ کیاگیا ہے۔ جس کےتحت آرٹیکل 6 کی خلاف ورزی میں ملوث افرادکو سپریم کورٹ سمیت کوئی بھی عدالت معاف نہیں کرسکتی.
