In collaboration with @theAIS, we recruited 53 participants to spend 1 night in the @CQUni_Appleton Sleep Lab. Participants spent 9h in bed wearing 6 devices, as well as gold standard polysomnography (PSG; sleep) and electrocardiogram (ECG; heart rate).

HIIT Intervals for GAA athletes, without doing time trials?

Enter 10-20-30 HIIT, designed by Jens Bangsbo, a Danish soccer sport scientist.

Run easy for 30s
Run hard for 20s
Run fast for 10s

That’s 1 minute. Repeat for 4 mins. Walk 2-3 mins. Repeat for 3 sets.

The system allows you to play the same shot so you can see if the GK is better able to make the save once their visual system has adapted.

Each clip involves the “early exposure” strike followed by the same strike during the “adjusted” phase.

What you will see is that the player has increased their visual system by almost 20%

This benefit transfers over to the typical light levels on a MATCH DAY.
Players have confirmed that they feel much sharper on a match day and “everything just feels easier” in normal playing conditions.

En esa temporada 2014-2015, el Leicester City #lcfc estuvo a punto de descender, lo que no hubiese sorprendido a nadie. A falta de 6 jornadas era último. Acabó 14º tras una espectacular racha de 6 victorias en 7 partidos.
