Why?
- library edition books are hardier, designed for hundreds, if not thousands, of read-throughs. Your paperback will not stand the test of time.
- They probably already have a copy

I have seen SO MANY of my librarian friends post about this. (Particularly maddening: books that are "donated" through the BOOK DROP.)
If you think your local library might want actually want some of your discards, PLEASE talk to the librarian.
