Growing up, I never met a black doctor. It wasn’t until college that I met Dr. Ben Carson (@SecretaryCarson). He has been such an inspiration to me and helped me on the path to become a physician. I hope my visit helps inspire each of YOU to be whatever you want to be.

Companies are within their legal rights to advocate for their positions, participate in rulemakings, and challenge executive agency decisions in court to ensure APA procedures are followed and constitutional rights protected, among other things. This is the United States. 1/8
These businesses should not be chastised or mocked by their representatives, including the USSG, for asserting those rights. 2/8
Also, why do you assume companies are NOT trying to comply with premarket review, just because they may also be challenging or “lobbying” for better rules? I maintain that many are. 3/8

Today, I’m at @HHSGov’s Interagency Committee on Smoking and Health discussing the epidemic of e-cigarette use among our nation’s youth. We will address ways to empower youth and key influencers and how to utilize technology to encourage youth vaping cessation. #NoEcigs4Kids ImageImage

2/5 Sunday Spotlight: Levy (director of Adolescent Substance Use and Addiction Boston Children's Hospital) said she's seen vape-addicted kids in her program showing psychiatric symptoms rarely seen with traditional cigarettes or among adults. Some have anxiety and cannot focus.

“Even to this day, I have kids saying, 'well, I thought it was safe' or 'I know it's safer than cigarettes,' " Levy said.
