Was in Jackson, Miss working for AP during Katrina. Family evacuated to my 2 bedroom apartment. Having to cover the storm & aftermath, while trying to keep it together emotionally was so hard. Will never forget
9 years ago I was 2 weeks from giving birth to my son and Hurricane Isaac hit Louisiana. My mom was visiting NC for a month w/ only a small suitcase of stuff. Storm flooded my childhood home, left my family homeless, living with relatives. My mom sat helpless here
