1/1 This is possibly the most incorrect statement from the @NYTScience “#hygeine hypothesis” article 👉 “Our immune system needs a job,” Dr. Lemon said. “We evolved over millions of years to have our #immune systems under constant assault. Now they don’t have anything to do.”
2/2 The opposite is true 👉 Our #immune systems are extremely “challenged”... from managing the virulence of trillions of organisms in #microbiome/virome communities, to controlling #pathogens acquired in food, water etc, to dealing w/ enviromental #toxins/exposures etc☝️C’mon!
