Today’s Friday sermon in #HagiaSophia—with choice of Quranic verses, sword display, #Erdogan reciting of Quean, and covering of “Christian symbols” —was the official inaguration of the Islamic State of #Turkey.

शेकडो वर्षांपूर्वी रोमन शासकांच्या ताब्यात असलेल्या ह्या भूभागात तत्कालीन रोमन राज्याने सध्या जिथे "हाइया सोफिया" इमारत आहे तिथे लाकडी चर्च बनवले, ते तेव्हाच्या युद्धात शत्रूंकडून जाळले गेले, पुन्हा लाकडी चर्च उभारले गेले तेसुद्धा युद्धात जाळण्यात आले.

नंतरच्या रोमन राजाने त्याच जागेवर पुन्हा भव्यदिव्य दगडी बांधकामातील अस चर्च उभारले, आपण "हाइया सोफिया" वास्तू म्हणून पाहतो ती तेव्हाच उभारलेली दगडी बांधकामातील चर्च आहे. परंतु नंतरच्या काळात युरोपात "ऑटोमन साम्राज्य" उदयास आले आणि त्यांनी वेगाने विस्तारही केला.
