. would happen if she got really sick. We asked the aides what Sen. Perdue was going to do about this. What was his plan? The only statement we could get was "Sen. Perdue doesn't think the ACA is the way to go." Okay, what does he propose? Crickets. 2/3
Lorie passed away early this morning after a short illness that was treatable if she'd had health insurance. The hospital and doctors worked to get her approved for Medicaid but too little, too late. Bob, our sincerest condolences. 3/3

When I heard of Chadwick Boseman's passing, it hit me hard. My father recently passed due to stage four cancer. Too many people have lost loved ones to this terrible disease, and Black people are disproportionately hurt due to structural inequalities in healthcare & beyond. (2/5)

“It really is a crisis.” Just like @billiehsutton has always said: Medicaid expansion is a life or death isssue. As the article points out, reimbursement rates also disproportionately affect rural areas. We must #expandmedicaid in SD.
