The reason #eggboy’s protest has struck such a cord is that it cuts to the heart of white supremacy: a sense of inadequacy and a fear of humiliation.
They dress their fear as tough guy bravado, as anger, even as comedy shitposting, but scratch the surface and fear and inadequacy is all that’s there.
These racists feel humiliated and emasculated by the world around them. They blame feminist women who don’t want them, gays who they feel threaten their own masculinity, Asians buying houses they can’t afford, “enclaves” with strong communities.
To the bloke’s saying, “You can’t blame Anning for hitting that kid, it was automatic self-defense”: What if #eggboy was #egggirl? Cos applying your logic, presumably you also think it’d be fine to hit a teenage girl & have your mates choke hold her. Yeah?
What if it were #eggboy was 15? 13? 8 yrs old? If Anning’s reaction was a totally defensible unconscious response, then smacking a child would also be fine, cos your adrenaline was up. Right?
What if instead of #eggboy, it was #yellowstickynoteboy, and instead of egging him, he slapped a yellow sticky note on Anning’s back saying “Hello, I’m fascist Fraser, I don’t read much books”, and it gave poor Fraser a fright? Would you say the kid should get hit for that?
1) Hey it's time for me to goto bed, but one final thing inre #eggboy/#eggboi. As noted, neo-#Nazi Neil Erikson was one of the 5 or 6 men who, er, restrained the teen; Erikson has criminal convictions for antisemitic (FEB 2014) & anti-Muslim (SEP 2017) actions.
2) Perhaps in order to complete the trifecta, last year (MAY 2018) he was also charged w disrupting a church service -- which involved him & some of his thuggish mates invading Gosford church & scaring some elderly parishoners.

3) He's due back in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on MAY 13 to face charges of riot/assault/affray stemming from the Melbourne date of the DEC 2017 Milo Yiannopoulos tour; joining him in court on same will be his sidekick Ricky Turner & old nazi chum Richard Whelan.
One thing you don't see in the short #eggboy clips—Annang's supporters put him in a chokehold and left him in one while he was incapacitated on the ground. One casually kicked him in the guts while he was restrained.

I came out against punching Nazis ages ago. Hitting someone with an egg counts as assault, too. But, yeah, Fraser Anning just did a Prescott. He got egged, took a moment to size up his attacker (a teen), THEN let fly. That's not self-defence; it's revenge.

Note the teenager in the black t-shirt and blue shorts who kicks '#eggboy' while he is being held down by three men (before kneeling down for a close-up of his face while he is being held to the ground in a choke-hold). That is assault, too.
