Today, the Indian Cabinet approved Promulgation of the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Ordinance. Basically, they want to ban #ecigarettes. A lot of people are celebrating the ban without even knowing what ecigarettes are. So what are they? Let's educate ourselves.
An #ecigarette is actually a vaporizer which simulates smoking without any actual burning or smoke. The popular term for using it is known as 'vaping'. The device itself has 3 important parts, the battery, vaporizer and tank/cartridge which holds the vape liquid.

As of 8/27, 215 possible cases of severe respiratory disease associated w/ use of #ecigarette products have been reported from 25 states. @CDCgov and @US_FDA are working closely with state & local health officials to investigate. bit.ly/2MItTWB
.@CDCgov is helping states investigate whether the respiratory illnesses may be linked to specific devices, ingredients or contaminants in the devices, or substances associated with #ecigarette product use.
While some cases are similar and appear to be linked to #ecigarette product use, more information is needed to determine what is causing the respiratory illnesses. In many cases, patients have also acknowledged recent use of THC or CBD-containing e-cigarette products.
