The state has begun presenting victim impact statements to the court, they just played a video statement recorded by #GeorgeFloyd’s daughter Gianna Floyd.
Next victim impact statement is from Brandon Williams, Floyd’s nephew. Williams tells the court about how he won’t get any more “laughter, guidance, hugs, advice” from his uncle - those moments are “forever gone...our family is forever broken.” Requests maximum penalty.

Good morning. We are on verdict-watch in the Derek Chauvin trial. The jury deliberated last night for about 4 hours, from 4p-8p. And they resumed this morning at 8a.
What should we watch for? Besides coming forward with a verdict, at some point they might have a question.

If the jury has a question in this case -- the judge will call the parties back into court and will read the jury's question out loud - and on camera.

The defense is going into heavy detail about the events of the day and cause of death, presumedly to emphasize reasonable doubt.
The defense is now closing. #ChauvinTrial Attorney Eric Nelson is reminding the jury that Chauvin is presumed innocent, per the law. The burden is on the prosecution.
This is in stark contrast to the prosecution beginning with a narrative.
Defense is emphasizing "proof beyond a reasonable doubt" and that the proof in the prosecution's case must "eliminate" doubt as a whole.
