Weary?
I am.
There’s so much I don’t like going on, stuff that scares me.
To cheer myself up I thought I’d write a list of things I’d like to happen, in #auspoI and the world:
1. An emissions trading scheme.
2. Indigenous voice to Parliament
3. #changethedate
4. Federal ICAC
But wait! There’s more!
5. Transition plans for renewable energy jobs for those currently in mining
6. Publicly funded elections
7. A national job guarantee
8. Newstart set at 50% of median wage
9. Commitment to social housing
10. Some bankers in prison would be nice? #auspol
Fuck it. May as well keep going.
11. National plan for sustainable agriculture, protect our food security.
12. #auspol the manufacturing leader of renewable technologies
13. Free high quality public education from early years to university.
14. Medicare for dental and mental

A thread: I'd like to go over the *worst* take from the white guy who sat quietly while #KAK used the suffering of Indigenous people to dismiss Invasion Day: "History was pretty horrible so colonialism wasn't that bad. Also nobody is racist" #auspol

So right off the bat there's a switch: the "unheard side of the Studio 10 debate" is actually a think piece about #changethedate with no explanation for why Hildebrand stayed silent while Kerri-Anne went off on one. Not an important topic, I guess
This is already on shaky footing because #changethedate is old news and the only people still talking about it are, unsurprisingly, probably white. What's needed is substantive policy, not celebrating genocide on another day #fuckthedate #changeAustralia

A thread on jan 26: my mentions are being flooded by people saying “it was a long time ago”, “it was not an invasion” and “you are better off”. These people are some of the same people who complain of a “Muslim invasion” or “Chinese buying Australia”.
If we were not invaded you are certainly not being invaded. If you bought the land fair-and-square so are foreign nationals who are buying land. If we are better off you will be if the technologically superior economic powerhouse called China takes over.
Bear in mind, I don’t believe there is a Muslim invasion and I believe if foreign nationals like the British Vestey company can own land here so can the Chinese.
