old colt, Bodie, home to our rescue.Delilah is skin & bones everywhere but her round belly, which is clearly full of worms. We have to be very careful with deworming her so we don't kill off too many worms at once and possibly lose Delilah. We have her on a re-feeding program-
where we feed her many small meals of alfalfa, tifton hay and complete feed nuggets around the clock. We can't overload her body with too much food at once; her digestive tract and her organscannot handle free choice hay like all the other rescue horses here at the ranch enjoy.-

The Reason We Do What We Do….
This little 6 month old boy was at Kaufman Killpen all alone, scared & unhandled. When we saw him we just couldn’t look away. We knew we had to get him out of there & fast. Once we got him out of there he spent time in quarantine & has made it home.

I had the opportunity to meet this sweet boy this past weekend where he and I formed a bond of love and trust. I am humbled by the bond I formed with him. The peace and calm I felt from bonding with him was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.
I walked into his pen with another member of the rescue and he handed me his lead rope. I stood there quietly waiting for him to see that all I wanted was to love him and not hurt him. I stood next to him, waiting for him to feel the love I had for him.

I have been vegetarian for 11 years and mostly vegan for 5 years, and converted to Islam 4 years ago.

In historic times, there were places and situations where eating meat was necessary for survival, where plant food usable by humans was rare, like in desert or tundra environments, or where famines broke out. In these situations, slaughtering animals and eating them for 2/
survival was a "lesser evil" as compared to letting humans starve. In our situation nowadays however, we can easily live vegan, and animal slaughter is no longer necessary for survival. There are plenty of plant foods available, and we can easily have a healthy vegan diet 3/

When NhRP Communications Director @LaurenChoplin was in first grade, she and her two sisters pleaded with their parents to let them keep a dog they'd found on the street and brought home in a wheelbarrow. After no one claimed the dog at the shelter, their parents relented.
At first, the dog peed on the carpet and chased the cats, worrying Lauren's parents. However, with time and lots of love, Molly quickly adjusted to life in her new household.
One of Lauren's most vivid childhood memories is of crouching on the floor alone with Molly, who'd become ill, and imagining she could use her hands and tears to magically take away Molly's sickness.
