Today I was arrested at the #Coronation on suspicion of carrying eggs. I was identified by facial recognition cameras, and snatched from the protest in handcuffs so tight they cut my skin. For the second time I was dragged through a crowd of monarchists baying for my blood....1
I was searched, and when they found nothing, was released after half an hour. The police had to escort me back through the monarchist crowds because so many people were assaulting me...2
Solidarity to Graham Smith and all of the @republiccampaign organisers arrested today under the new Public Order Bill for carrying a bundle of signs wrapped up in rope, which the police said could be used to lock on. #abolishthemonarchy #NotMyKing #coronation

Here is "King Charles III", a pedophile sympathizer, a known secret influencer and lobbyist of the government, a creep, a racist, an abuser and an entitled selfish loser ⤵

Here is a thread: 🧵

Not only has Charles been close friends with known pedophiles, he himself has even shown disgusting pedophilic tendencies:

Laurens van der Post, who was a Jungian mystic and a spiritual adviser to Charles, raped the 14-year-old daughter of a wealthy South African [1/4]

Despite this in 1982, [2/4]

Remember when KP instructed its lawyers to demand that Tatler remove sections from their online version because it wasn't as flattering and favourable to Kate Middleton, as they had hoped!
They had them remove the comments criticising the Middleton's, comments about Kate’s weight and other details... Well those other details in the original version, included that William and Kate invited a Psychic Medium to their KP apartment to make contact with Diana!
Remember also that Tatler claimed that they had spoken to many of William and Kate's closest friends and put out its own statement, saying that Kate's friend - Tatler‘s Editor-in-Chief Richard Dennen, stood behind the reporting of Anna Pasternak and her sources.

If people have waited all their lives to shout "child abuser" at Andrew Windsor, and they have one opportunity to fulfill their ambition, I think we should all respect that.
One way to avoid getting sewage in your mouth, while swimming, is to keep it closed
Another way, is to lock the bosses of the water companies up. And renationalize
The Labour Party should be brought back into public ownership. Privatization hasn't worked.

From the chapter on Profanity. Who determines what is “civil” and what is “rude?” Who benefits from upholding those social codes? Under the British and other empires, white, Christian values
So fuck the royal family, fuck the monarchy, and abolish the monarchy everywhere #AbolishTheMonarchy #WhyISayFuck feministgiant.com/p/essay-why-i-…
It is imperative to understand how civility, decorum, manners, and the like are used to uphold authority—patriarchy, whiteness, other forms of privilege—and that we are urged to acquiesce as a form of maintaining that authority

.@TuckerCarlson Here’s how Brits “civilised” Indians by imposing the barbaric “distance test”.

Robert Lytton (aka Rodent) & “Queen” Victoria were sc^mbags.

👇 thread was written to rebut academics who whitewashed Crimes of Britain as “Climate Change”.

Plundering all ur wealth & food, selling the food to u at an exorbitant price, imposing a barbaric “distance test” to determine your eligibility to eat (u eat if you’re fit for slave labour). 8 Million Madrasis were genocided in the Madras Holocaust. #IndianTwitter #IrishTwitter
Nothing says “civilising” “savages” like plundering & genociding 8 Million people while you throw a lavish 14 day banquet for your self proclamation as the Empress of the colonised nation & then rewriting history to call it a “famine” caused by “Climate Change”.

Prince William, the Lazy Prince. 🧵

The royals and their fans like to claim the royal family is busy. To help bolster this image they talk about how many engagements they do each year.
Before getting into what they mean by engagements, and why it doesn't add up to much, it's worth noting that this is an odd way to justify someone's position.
They never talk about what they've achieved, just what they've turned up to. They never talk about work actually done, just the work of those who watch them turn up.

Tomorrow sees the release of the royals' annual accounts, which we've now had access to. It's worth taking a moment to appreciate how dishonest, absurd and indefensible the Sovereign Grant is. 🧵
The Grant was invented and introduced about 11 years ago by George Osborne, replacing the Civil List. The Civil List was pretty bad, but nothing like as bad as the Sovereign Grant. The Civil List was fixed by parliament every ten years, at which point MPs could debate the costs.
The Sovereign Grant is only ever reviewed by the Royal Trustees (the Prime Minister, the Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Keeper of the Privy Purse). MPs no longer have any say in the assigning of budgets for the royal household.

It's odd to see royalists commenting on Andrew's sense of entitlement, as if entitlement isn't the bedrock of monarchy. As a group the royals feel a deep sense of entitlement: entitled to a unique family claim to the job of head of state and head of the state church; a claim to
thousands of hectares of land that rightly belongs in public hands; exemptions from whatever law they choose to exempt themselves from, including race discrimination and environmental protection laws; titles and honours awarded to them for no reason other than the family they
belong to and their status within it; medals, ranks and uniforms from all branches of the armed forces despite their own military careers being either quite short or non-existent; hundreds of millions of pounds every year to spend as they choose on running their household;

In 1831 in Jamaica, around 60,000 enslaved people went on strike for their liberty, burning sugar cane fields, and destroying sugar mills. These courageous souls exhibited incredible discipline, jailing slaveowners on estates but never harming them. 1/6

#AbolishTheMonarchy Image
Conversely, when the tide turned against the rebellion, the white British Jamaican government reacted quite brutally, slaughtering hundreds in the ensuing conflict, on scaffolds or by firing squad. 2/6

#AbolishTheMonarchy Image
Currently, the economic systems of Jamaica continue to suffer as a result of the black loss of inherited family wealth over those many colonial generations, and because of their historically imposed reliance on foreign capital and other financial arrangements.

When we tweeted pictures of the 18 royals, quite a few people had no idea who some of them were. Not surprising, as they don't make much of an appearance these days. But they still get significant subsidies from the state, including security and palatial apartments.
This is Richard, (Duke of Gloucester), a cousin of the Queen (son of the last king's brother), and his wife, Birgitte van Deurs (Duchess of Gloucester). The official royal website describes them as "full-time working members of the Royal Family."
In 2019 the Duke of Gloucester's engagements added up to about six weeks of full time 'work' for the whole year. Despite having never served in the armed forces, he dresses up in various uniforms. The couple have a palatial home in Kensington Palace.

Of course our campaign is about the British monarchy. But it's worth reflecting on monarchs around the world, whose legitimacy is bolstered by our own. A thread.

This is King Vajiralongkorn of Thailand. He is vicious and corrupt. In a country that still has around 6% living in poverty he has amassed a personal fortune estimated between $30 and $70bn.

He has collaborated with military leaders, who staged a coup shortly before his accession to the throne. He spends a lot of his time in Germany, rather than in Thailand, including during the Covid pandemic.

This is what targeted racial harassment looks like: nitpicking things like “smiled” or “wore clothes like a celebrity, as a celebrity” or “bought cookware.” It is part of the “gold digger” narrative.
This is common in #healthcare#professionalism” where there is hazing & bullying by racist &/or classist made up non-rules lacking standards…yet people are called “breaking the rules.”

It’s exactly how bullies operate: double standards, mislabel/smear, exclude, marginalize.
In the U.K., “BAME” includes the formerly colonized, thus making race constructs or power different from U.S. as latter had race-based chattel slavery.

Thing is, those formerly colonized have many who have internalized self hate & racism.

Extremely annoyed by David Onley's either dishonest or ignorant statements. Not only is the statement "but Canada was good to slaves" irrelevant to anti-Blackness and the monarchy, it's also a bullshit lie that Canadians tell in the act of nationalist mythmaking. /1 #cdnpoli
If this guy is gonna try to use an ad hominem about how many history courses the brilliant @wickdchiq has taken to try to win a debate about racism...which he clearly has no qualifications to argue...let me just undo the "history" the man was spouting. /2
The Act Onley references didn't free a single enslaved person in Upper Canada. It did spark a mass movement of enslaved people frm the US to Canada seeking to liberate themselves (Underground Railroad) & A TWIN MASS MOVEMENT FROM of enslaved people frm Upper Canada to the US. /3

After hours of fielding racist comments on #HarryandMeghanonOprah, I will now be muting or blocking anyone sending me such missives. But I want to clarify some things, since some folks are spewing disinformation based on their racism and misogyny.
1/x
The British Royal family--particularly Harry's immediate family of the Queen, Prince Phillip, Charles and William--all had the opportunity to embrace Meghan and give her full standing and love. They could have refused to repeat the harm they inflicted on Diana. They did not.
2/x
Meghan Markle is a smart, accomplished, elegant, philanthropic activist for important causes. She is a feminist and anti-racist activist. She is an obviously warm and gentle person. She was demonized to the point of suicidal ideation while she was pregnant by Harry's family.

The #OprahMeghanHarry interview has exposed the monarchy for the decrepit institution that it is. #AbolishTheMonarchy is currently trending, showing the anger that people feel towards this rotten relic. But why do we still have a monarchy? And how do we get rid of it? [A THREAD]
In this article from last year, we analysed the so-called 'Megxit' crisis, when Meghan and Harry took their first steps on the path to 'financial independence'. We noted that this dispute merely reflects the crisis at the heart of the British monarchy.

As we explained, "The British monarchy has always acted as window dressing for the rule of the bosses. The pomp and ceremony of the institution... are supposed to inspire awe and reverence... the state, as the repressive tool of class rule, [is] given some kind of “dignity”.

Do you know what I did after I tried telling people in my family that I felt suicidal and they dismissed it, literally laughing it off in disbelief?

I tried committing suicide. I'd do so three more times. I now live with the constant anxiety that those thoughts could come back.
If the courage you've found to admit to people that life isn't preferable, or better that you need some help, is then met by dismissal or denial, it is something that can turn a crisis into a tragedy.

Any institution or TV presenter that facilitates this, needs tearing down.
This will achieve literally nothing, but mental health mockery and dismissal really bothers me.

Many with MH problems feel like they have an unrelenting responsibility to help fix the problems created by others, and I guess I'm not free from that. So thanks, @ITV. ImageImage
