2/ Max Chung & I felt it was our duty to light up the candle and curse the darkness. Therefore, we launched the Take Back #YuenLong / Liberate YL protest on the July 27. For sure, the police won't let us through by using many technical reasons.
3/ We fought hard at the appeal board we couldn't make it. As the protest has been well-advertised, #HongKongers flock to the satellite town on the day anyway.
Village leaders tried to negotiate w/ us before the day but have been called off as they blocked the protest permit.

#HongKongProtests - Iā€™ve toured around #yuenlong this morning to check the aftermath of the protest. What strikes me the most is the graffiti of ā€œLiberate #Hongkong, revolution of our timesā€ is everywhere:
It was the election slogan of pro-independence activist Edward Leung in the Legco by-election in 2016. He was barred from running in the subsequent polls & later jailed for 6 years for his role in the Mongkok unrest. The slogan has been fully revived 3 years later:
While thereā€˜re also slogans targeted at the police, thereā€™s rarely one on ā€œno extradition on Chinaā€. The graffiti in #YuenLong perhaps is the latest illustration of how the #antiELAB movement has transformed - no longer abt the now-suspended bill but Hkersā€™ grievances over years
