minwaxing the music desk this weekend. waiting for the final coat to dry so i can lightly sand with a synthetic abrasive pad and buff to a sheen. this is exciting to me
the poly isn't as level as i'd like, i think the third coat was a bit too thick (might have been too cold in the room) but i sanded it down a bit before applying the final coat as a spray instead, which is supposed to help you get you a glassy smooth finish afterward.

Serving mainly in #Scotland and the #BritishIsles during both World Wars, the #Canadian Forestry Corps (CFC) provided lumber for the Allies. Assembled in November 1916, the CFC was composed of dozens of forestry companies. Loggers also occasionally served as infantry.
Known as “the Sawdust Fusiliers,” the men continued their military training on Saturdays after their week’s work in the woods. Rifle range practice, training with bayonets, and tactical exercises helped prepare the CFC to protect residents and neighbouring airfields.

I saw a couple carrying these contraptions on way to class at a #designinstitute. My driver drove close to the bikers and they slowed down for me to take photos, giggled &waved😎thanks to Pooja I now know that these are #handmade #mousetraps used in #agricultural #domestic spaces
She studied them for her environmental perception course and even bought one. Pooja said, there’s a specific indigenous people who make this out of palm leaf and wood - all locally available material. They sell these for Rs 120 - 150
They are also hired to install and empty them when the #rats are caught. The makers of this #traditional #local #designsolution make about Rs 10, 000/- per month. Thank you Pooja 😊with every #student I learn so much
