I was reading a thread which I now can’t find. The topic was the panic surrounding “contact-overdoses” from fentanyl (mainly among LEOs).

Many people were stating what I understood to be statements of fact, but without sources or context.
People were asking fair questions and being lambasted for (non-combatively) daring to reveal their lack of expertise regarding the chemical properties of fentanyl and expressing their desire for further clarification. FUCKING IDIOTS.
The short of it is this: Contact overdoses, that is an overdose via skin contact with fentanyl and other high potency synthetic opioids, are not possible. Regardless of the strength, fentanyl doesn’t break the skin barrier. (What about the patches? I’ll get to it.)

Of the 11,886 deaths associated with "other opioids" in 2019 (more or less prescription), 5,709 of them, or 48%, were also attributed to heroin and/or fentanyl.

It ain't prescription pain medication. #opioidcrisis

w/ wonder.cdc.gov/controller/sav…
w/o wonder.cdc.gov/controller/sav…
The "opioid crisis" is fixated on #Purdue and #OxyContin... when prescription opioids, on their own (presumably with or without benzos), only account for 12.4% of the 49,860 opioid related deaths in 2019... marvelous work, USA.
Total 2019: wonder.cdc.gov/controller/sav…

It's funny synths actually make it not add up... they were 36,359 (wonder.cdc.gov/controller/sav…) and heroin was 14,019 (wonder.cdc.gov/controller/sav…) plus aforementioned 11,886 = 62,264.

Idk man, #WTFentanyl.

#ChangingTheNarrative identified over 20 oft-repeated errors, inaccuracies, and flawed narratives. Each one has its own page that outlines why it's wrong and how to do better. Take "Tough Love": Punitive & confrontational tactics simply do not help people with addiction. Period.
Many narratives we identified are deeply ingrained in American culture and must be challenged. For e.g. "Opioid Crisis as a White Issue": The data show that's simply not the case. POC are incredibly vulnerable to OD.

I keep track of things and I like old books. The other day this old ledger caught my eye online so I bought it. I thought I could keep track of case notes. I like a little bit of history in my books.
It was interesting because it was the ledger from the Canada Southern Railway Line and had been used in 1877. It was mostly blank so I bought it. The ad mentioned that some pages had been used.
When it arrived, it had old book smell but it was in great condition. I pulled it open and noticed the perfectly written script and math scrawled on the inside cover.
