1) Hb in stomach --> amino acids (aa).
2) aa absorbed by small intestine.
3) aa transported and taken up by liver.
4) In the liver, aa undergo deamination, leading to release of NH3.

5) NH3 (aka ammonia) is converted to urea by the urea cycle, leading to elevated blood urea levels.
6) Meantime, creatinine is not influenced by the protein/aa bolus.
7) Thus, BUN/creatinine ratio is increased.

So why does blood cause this bump in urea and increase in BUN/creatinine ratio, whereas a steak dinner does not?
Because blood has poor BIOLOGICAL VALIUE (the protein is poorly utilized by the body).
The LOWER the biological value of a protein, the HIGHER the urea.

Destaque para os EUA que está exportando um recorde de #nitrogenados, já que na UE os preços do NG inviabilizaram a produção e comércio do insumo. Para o Brasil, o principal exportador de #urea foi Omã, seguido pela Rússia e Catar, de SAM foi a China com 95% de mktshare⤵️
Os #fertilizantes tiveram mais uma queda de preços esta semana, incluindo os nitrogenados, como #urea e Sulfato de Amônia. #naturalgas também registrou queda de preços, já que estoques na Europa estão, quase, cheios. O problema para a #commodity energética, deverá vir no início⤵️

Las investigaciones que dirige el parlamentario respecto a los daños perpetrados contra la República por la precedente Asamblea Nacional (2016-2021) aseguran que la #urea es vendida en primera instancia a Roberto Benzecry Izaguirre, hermano y socio del agente de Guaidó.
Según el parlamentario (que contradictoriamente fue uno de quienes aprobó la designación de Guillermo Benzecry como miembro de la ilegal directiva de PDVSA CVP) la urea, para procesar cocaína, se estaría vendiendo a los carteles de los hermanos Ochoa y de alias "Doble Rueda".

The project shall be the first operational Urea plant in #Odisha and shall produce 1.27 MMTPA of Urea at an estimated investment of about Rs. 13000 crore.
