Day 1. Boarded train from Delhi and reached Haridwar on time. Had to wait for my taxi guy to pick up. Once we started journey to barkot, witnessed huge traffic due to holiday season and people driving on hilly areas. Day 2: started trek from Janakicheti around 9:30 am. The climate was sunny and breezy. The trek is about 6 kms ( as per sign board) one way. Crowd was there and walking was pleasant. 📍ಮಾಗೋಡು ಜಲಪಾತ
ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ, ಮಾಗೋಡುನಿಂದ 3 ಕಿ. ಮೀ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮಾಗೋಡು ಜಲಪಾತವು ಬೇಡ್ತಿ ನದಿಯಿಂದ ರೂಪುಗೊಂಡು ಎರಡು ಧಾರೆಗಳಾಗಿ ಸುಮಾರು 650 ಅಡಿ ಎತ್ತರದಿಂದ ಧುಮುಕುವ ಜಲಪಾತವು ಅರ್ಧಚಂದ್ರಾಕೃತಿಯಾಗಿ ಹರಿದು ಅರಬಿ ಸಮುದ್ರ ಸೇರುತ್ತದೆ. (1/8)

that involved taking entire equipment by road and air till Guwahati, then by small vehicles to boat, then by boat to a major island, then by road to other end of island, and then by boat to our project island and finally by cycles, motorcycles and tractor to the village.
When you reach such remote areas of the world, and realise the minimalistic approach to materialism the residents of such areas have, n still satisfied, it’s eye opening and a wake up call. A big reason why I’ve always continued to work in rural electrification and water access.
